William Walker to Periscope: The Government's approach to Kosovo was a very serious mistake. I am disappointed with what happened.

Well, if I understand the matter correctly, let me tell you what I know and tell me whether I'm correct or wrong. Initially I was told that Klan Kosova was registered as a North Macedonia company. And somehow, we all know that Klan Kosova is a huge television media, in all parts of the Balkans, but especially in Kosovo. Very respectable. I did some interviews while I was in Kosovo and have been treated very well. Great professionalism. But I'm told, in their documents, at one point they're recording their home address and for some reason it's fallen into the agency's attention, in the Pristina government, which gives permission to broadcast and for some reason by looking at this record, their transmission permit was canceled”, says Walker for Periscope.

My decision is very... what I understand is that there has been a sense of indignation in other media in Kosovo, after the silence of the Kosovo Clan. Not only by the media, not only by journalists, broadcasters and these, but also by the international community. I understand that the US ambassador, Germany and other ambassadors have come out saying this was a big mistake”, he said.

And I definitely agree with that. Because in my opinion, please correct me if I say wrong. Klan Kosova was called that their permission was out of office, there were mistakes on paper, etc., which for me are technical issues and of course, no reason to close them”, Walker says.

Kosovo's “court has issued a statement saying it must postpone the decision on Klan Kosova until this issue is resolved. So, I commend the Court and those who have expressed themselves in media protection there. Say whatever you say, whether it's critical of the government or in favor. Press freedom is extremely important in democracy. Kosovo has truly shown a truly solid democracy

And this issue, this government action, whether by a government minister or by the government's own headquarters by the prime minister, president or anyone else, is a very bad mistake for me. Freedom of the press is the main ingredient, in the function of a democracy that Kosovo wants to be. So I'm very disappointed that it happened.
