Weber: No will by either side to implement Ohrid Agreement

German analyst Bodo Weber says Kosovo is not being treated equal to Serbia at the negotiating table that is being mediated by the European union. According to him, Western states have created a perception that the problem lies with Pristina for the crisis in the north.
“Albin Kurti is absolutely right when saying the dialogue process is currently unbalanced. It is clear that the West is using a mild policy towards Belgrade. With what has happened over the past period, Western states have created a perception that Pristina is the main problem. Such a punitive approach by the West has been lacking to Belgrade when, for example, Serbs decided to leave institutions and then boycotted the” elections, Weber praised.
But Weber is not seeing will from either side to implement the Ohrid Agreement.
It is clear that there is no will from Pristina and Belgrade to respect the agreement reached in Ohrid. This is the result of the entire negotiation process that has been badly designed by the West by approaching Belgrade too gently, and thus the agreements are not taken seriously. And because of such an unbalanced, unfavourable approach to Pristina, it has contributed to the loss of trust in the mediators of this process. This in some form even justifys Pristina's actions from not implementing the” agreements at all, Weber said of ve1.
For the suspension of the situation in the north, the EU and the US have called for new elections in the four northern municipalities.
