Representatives of the ruling party say the Kosovo government is willing to stick to all agreements to arrive at a deespass of the situation in the north. Meanwhile, European Union representatives say the Kosovo government is obliged to announce the extraordinary elections in the four northern municipalities as soon as possible.
Although the Vetevendosje Movement is insisting on removing the European Union's punitive measures to later announce new elections in the north, party deputy Enver Dugolli says the Kosovo government has at no time conditioned these elections. He blames the Serbian side for rejecting co-operation in extending the situation.
“should be mentioned that the Kosovo government is constructive, responsible in all agreements, and ready to stick to it. The Serbian side so far has the market that wants instability, wants agreements not to be respected. So this time the EU has to find methods to convince the Serb side not to be so destructive. In the RKS elections, Serbia cannot condition it, it needs to be disciplined and seriously cautioned by the EU and the International Community. We don't condition, we just want to stick to what we've been talking to, so Deputy Prime Minister with emissary Lajcak”, Dugolli told Rtv21.
The European Union reiterated concerns about tensions in northern Kosovo, calling on both sides to return calm to the north. Official Brussels also called for the quickest election scarf for the four municipalities in the north.
