Infectian Valbon Krasniqi has shown that usually during the summer season there is an increase in the number of patients with viral meningitis in Kosovo. Krasniqi has said that children are mainly affected.
Krasniqi in a conversation for the “show Today” on KTV has shown that viral meningitis is a disease that has an easier clinical performance but requires treatment and takes 5-7 days to heal. But he added that the most serious disease is bacterial meningitis.
Krasniqi has shown that about 38 meningitis patients have been treated between the beginning of the year and June in the Infectia, and from July to today, nearly 43 patients with viral meningitis have been treated, while there have been 20 more Bacterial meningitis.
There are currently eight meningitis patients on infection, of which two are virral and sixth Bacterial meningitis. Meningitis symptoms are high body temperatures above 38 degrees, headaches, vomiting, stiffness of neck muscles, children have photophobes, light impedes you, and puts your hand ahead of”, Krasniqi said.
He has said that the diagnosis is done in Infective through the Lumbar workshop, where 2-3 doses of fluid are taken from the back and analyzed.
