The longtime footballer has not been part of the “Red Days” since the trial was under way.
Man Utd has now issued a communique showing that following the removal of all charges, Man Utd has made a full investigation of the case and will soon make a decision on it.
Full communication:
After dropping all charges against Mason Greenwood in February 2023, Manchester United has conducted a thorough investigation into the charges brought against him. This is based on evidence and broad context that is not in the public domain, and we have heard from many people with direct involvement or knowledge of the case.
Throughout this process, the well-being and perspective of the alleged victim has been central to the club's investigations and we respect its right to eternal anonymity.
We also have responsibility for Mason as an employee, as a young man who has been with the club since the age of seven and as a young father with a partner.
The phase of finding the facts of our investigation is now complete and we are in the final stages of making a decision for Mason's future.
Unlike media speculation, this decision has not yet been taken and is currently subject to intensive internal discussion. The responsibility finally belongs to the chief executive.
Once taken, the decision will be communicated, explaining the club's internal and externally interested parties.
This has been a difficult case for all related to Manchester United and we understand the strong opinions he has provoked based on partial evidence in the public domain. We seek patience while working through the final stages of this carefully examined process.
