Kosovo police are conducting an operation on a residential location in the neighbourhood of “Three Rrokakiejt” in northern Mitrovica, based on information that there are drug labs.
Deputy regional director for the north Veton Elshani said that weapons have been confiscated during the action.
We've started the action on information that there may be a drug lab there. We have found equipment for the [drug] lab, for krypovaluta, shock-bomba, arms, ammunition”, Elshani told Radio Free Europe.
The REL team has not been allowed to approach the building where the action is under way. The REL reporters were told it was about a private apartment.
This is not the first time that Kosovo police committed anti-drug actions, or anti-Kripova peaces in northern Kosovo, inhabited by Serb majority.
In February of this year, police discovered three drug labs in North Mitrovica.
Also, in May of last year, police had destroyed two drug labs in Izvor, near the border with Serbia, where large quantities of narcotic plants, such as marijuana, had been found. In April of that year, a drug laboratory in Zvecan was destroyed and four Serbs were arrested.
Order authorities have also conducted several shares in Kosovo, including in the north, against the fragmentation of cryptova peaces.
