Prime Minister Albin Kurti hosted US Senator Jack Reed, chairman of the Armed Forces Commission at the US Senate. According to the Government's announcement, the senator praised the progress Kosovo has achieved and gave his support for the positive results.
Kurti, who was accompanied by new Defence Minister Ejup Macedonia, reported it on recent developments and the country's main achievements, reported.
“Prime Minister Kurti stressed the increased budget in the field of defence, the establishment of military capacities, and close co-operation with the United States of America in implementing missions abroad of the Kosovo Security Force, as was the case with co-operation with the Iowas National Guard in Kuwait. In this case, he thanked him personally for Kosovo's involvement in the 2024 National Defence Authorisation Act, which enables Kosovo to be a participant in military exercises led by the United States to increase interoperability and compatibility with NATO troops”, the report said.
Senator Reed said support for Kosovo in 1999 has been one of the most valuable actions of the United States of America, while praising the progress Kosovo has achieved, the prime minister's communiqué says.
At this meeting, the US senator was accompanied by Ambassador Jeffrey Havener.
