Kosovo's ambassador to Germany, Faruk Ajjeti, delivered the news two days ago that lawyers licensed by the Republic of Kosovo could also exercise their post in the Federal Republic of Germany.
“, known by an important country like Germany, lawyers from our country can be more easily involved in international cases and offer their expertise in legal matters. This new chapter offers an extraordinary opportunity, which I knew and the experience of Kosovo lawyers, to be in fair proportion to international standards of justice and judicial integration, to adapt Kosovo's legal framework to German and European, respectively. Thank the Federal Ministry of Justice for its continued trust in the Republic of Kosovo!”, Ajeti wrote.
It was also described as a positive development by German Ambassador Jorn Rohde,
Kosovo's “Avokats can now register with German lawyers' associations. This step promises to boost economic co-operation and improve the execution of the German-Kosovo cross-border project. An important step forward!” wrote Rohde.
But today he clarified this post, showing how Kosovo lawyers can exercise their profession in Germany.
“Exploration of my post below: While Kosovo lawyers are allowed to work in Germany, practicing German law requires a corresponding diploma. That condition remains for representing clients in German courts. The update is only about activities outside the lawyer's programme, excluding judicial procedures”, he said.
