This comment, the Government of Kosovo has issued after the ban of Prime Minister Ardita Sinani's Councillor at one of the Kosovo border points, Serbia.
“Stopping the prime minister of the Republic of Kosovo for Presevo, Medvedja and Bujanoc, Ardita Sinani at the Mucibabababe border crossing by Serbia's border police is a serious violation of the fundamental right of freedom of movement”, a government communiqué said.
The prime minister's office reports that Sinan has been detained and held for nearly an hour today at the “border point given the reason for its ban, which is aimed at intimidation and torture only because of Albanian affiliation”.
Serbia's “This behaviour, which, apart from preventing higher education in Albanian and employment in public institutions, constitutes a serious violation of the fundamental rights of the Albanian community in the Presevo Valley, that of freedom of movement”.
At the end of the communiqué, the ZKM recalls the report, where it is stressed that Serbia performs ethnic cleansing of the Valley Albanians.
We remember that the Helsinki Committee in their report has stressed that Serbia is performing ethnic cleansing of Albanians in the Presevo Valley. “to reduce the number of Albanians living in the south as much as possible, the state is making the so-called “the extension of residential addresses belonging to Albanians” working abroad, whether in Western Europe or Kosovo. The measure is essentially a form of ethnic cleansing through administrative means”.
