Prompt Ymer: From September we'll be asked to join the Association.

Analyst Visar Ymer has said that despite applause to Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti, following his speech to the leadership panel at the Bled Strategic Forum, still from next week (September), Kosovo will be required to establish the Association of Serb majority municipalities.

That's what he said on the “Debat Plus” show, where he stressed that the fact that you get some applause in Bled does not improve Kosovo's position.

According to him, Kosovo is in the same position as the dialogue with Serbia and faced the agreement with Brussels.

“The behaviour of the EU and Western countries faces Kosovo, whether unfair or not, is fact. When you're in government, you take this as a fact and you find the way you address this issue, complaints that what's being done to us in politics have no power or logic. The fact that you receive some applause in Bled does not improve Kosovo's position, do not fool yourself, Kosovo is in the same position as having dialogue with Serbia and facing the agreement with Brussels. Even in September we will be asked to join the Serb majority municipalities despite applause to Prime Minister Kurti. We should be aware of this job, that nothing has changed in that direction”, Ymer said.

Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti said his state is for normalisation of reports with Serbia and that this is possible, but his Serbian counterpart, Ana Brnabiq, said the priority for Belgrade is the establishment of the Association of Serb majority municipalities.

I want to normalize the reports and do this immediately if, for example, my neighbor was the Czech Republic. But normalisation of reports with Serbia is more difficult. It could happen because we have to implement the Base Agreement that the Serbian president and I agreed to in Brussels. But normalization in psychology means a lack of confusion between reality and fantasy. In this direction, it cannot contribute”, Kurti said during the leadership panel at the Bled Strategic Forum.

Kurti referred to the agreement towards normalisation that Kosovo and Serbia arrived in Brussels in February. A month later, the parties agreed in Ohrid on its implementation Anex.
