The Central Election Commission (KQZ) has suspended the Republican Party of Kosovo due to the failure to hold the interior electoral assembly in the pre-term with legislation in effect. This decision was taken by unanimous votes from all members of the CEC on Tuesday.
The director of the Office for Recording, Certificate and Financial Control of political parties in the CEC, Besnik Buzhala, said the Kosovo Republicans' party had to hold the new electoral assembly earlier this month, but did not do so.
According to him, this party has 45 days to hold the electoral assembly if it wants the CEC suspension measure removed.
The decision was taken by 11 votes <x0pro”, while the CEC followed the closed-door meeting for its internal issues.
