Fadil Berjan, the Oil Association, urged Prime Minister Albin Kurti to withdraw the decision to set ceiling prices for oil and gasoline. He said the price of derivatives in Kosovo are the free behind northern Macedonia, while he added that price hikes are not extreme.
He announced that he was sent to court.
We as our associates have invited the Parliament, we have debated, we think this decision is harmful and the subject we will proceed to court. We can say that all oilmen have been to prosecute in court... we're backed up by the wall, forced the subject to go to court and the court says its word. We are increasing the extreme price, we are the cheapest in the region except North Macedonia, which has the excise for 22 cents<1>, he said.
According to Berjan, the price of current derivatives in Kosovo is 1.36 euros of oil, 1.38 of gasoline, until he added that in Albania it is 1.85 euros, and in Serbia 1.75.
All other states are at higher prices, citizens have the right to file complaints, but prices are real in the market. I like Kurt's decision. If any company has been abused at prices, it'll be followed. The price for our standard would be standard 1 euro, but that depends on berza”, he said.
The head of the Oil Association urged citizens to obtain a fiscal coupon when supplied with derivatives.
“Lus citizens wherever I'm supplied, take the fiscal coupon. If they have any problems with derivatives, they may complain at the Ministry of Transport, the derivatives are at the right level”.
