“As a result of police activities in the border belt, at 11.08.23, around 3:20 p.m., based on information police possessed, has reacted to the village of Kovac (Farkers), the area of responsibility for the borderary-Jasenovic Police Station. In this case, five people suspected of smuggling goods and assaults on the official person have been arrested, while a suspected person has managed to avoid arrest and has fled in an unknown direction”, the report said.
Fire exchange between police and some in the north after efforts to stop smuggling
It is also known in the report that to put the situation under control and avoid the further attack, and eliminate any possible risks against police officials, official equipment “specifically used fire weapons by police officials involved in this case”.
In the report it becomes known that in this operation, four cars have been seized, which have been involved in the concrete case where one of them has been confronted with an amount of cigarettes allegedly smuggled through illegal routes from Serbia.
