High temperatures continue to rise, reaching the gates of the fourth heat wave so far this summer, including Albania, as part of the Mediterranean area, from which comes African truly.
The maximum temperature record so far recorded in the region is about 50 degrees Celsius.
But it's not over yet. NASA warns that temperatures in these remaining August days will catch a new record, breaking July in some of the Mediterranean countries.
The thermometer is expected to break the 50 degrees Celsius barrier!
Carlos del Castillo is the head of the ocean ecology lab at NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center and has given an interview for La SER, in which he exposed the global climate crisis and will load temperatures released up to 50o C:
“Yes. During heat waves, it is reliable to reach those temperatures (50 degrees Celsius). We continue with the blitz on and the temperatures will continue to rise”, he said.
The scientist has explained to RVV listeners the causes of this temperature increase: “they are greenhouse gases emissions and we continue to pump more gases into the atmosphere. So there is no reason to think that temperatures will not continue to rise”.
In addition, it has compared our next possible framework to that of some actual areas of Asia and Africa that have reached such temperatures.
The amount of water vapor is growing because of increased sea water evaporation, and this can turn into more intense rainfall, but even though it may sound paradoxically, in more intense snowfall”, the scientist explains.
