MPB officials suspected of dealing with tenders, continued detention for two months

“Referenced your request for information, we inform you that following the Pristina Constitutional Prosecutor's request for continuing the detention measure in the criminal case against defendants A. S, B.B., N.S. and G.H., dated August 22, 2023 The Constitutional Court in Pristina -- the Randa Crime Department -- has ruled and approved the Constitutional Prosecutor's request in Pristina for continuing the detention measure against defendants A. S, B.B., N.S. and G. H, so that the detention measure was continued in length of 2 (two) months”, she said.
The suspects were arrested in July this year by the Kosovo Police's economic crimes, while taking action at the Ministry of Internal Affairs, exactly at the Procurement Department.
According to police, for initial suspects (A.S., B.B. and N. The S.H.) there is suspicion that on the basis of the quality of official persons acting in co-operation, during the implementation of several tendering procedures and implementation of projects in the MPB have received bribes from the contracted economic operator for conducting projects.
While suspects (N.S.) and (G.H.) in quality of representatives of the economic operator are suspected of the criminal work of providing Ryshfet with the aim of creating illegal priorities while implementing the project for the construction of “an object of a” agency and other projects developed by MPB. The same are suspected of criminal acts “False documents concerning taxing”.
And Minister of Internal Affairs Jhelal Svechla has promised that no one will be above the law and anyone who acts in opposition to it will face justice.
