Milatovich: Kosovo recognition is finished issue for Montenegro

Montenegro's president, Jakov Milatovic, once again stated that for the country leading, Kosovo is an independent state and that there will be no other decision. “The recognition of Kosovo's independence, the country's NATO membership and sanctions against Russia as part of the Union's common foreign and security policy [...]
“The recognition of Kosovo's independence, the country's NATO membership and sanctions on Russia, as part of the European Union's common foreign and security policy, are concluded questions”, Milatovic told RTV Slovenia.
In April of this year, the pro-Montenegrin parties initiated the withdrawal of Kosovo's recognition, reports Europelire in the Serbian language.
Kosovo's independence was recognised by the Montenegrin government in 2008, when Milo Djukanovic's Democratic Party of Socialists was in power.
He lost power in August 2020 elections, where the winner emerged from the pro-Serbian Democratic Front and the pro-rus, Democrats and URA movement.
He voiced hope that the Montenegrin state, with the help of strategic partners, will become a full member of the European Union in the next 4-5 years.
