No life sentence became powerful

Sentences to life in Kosovo were pronounced several times in recent years, and some were for women's murders. But none of them have remained in power, after some of them were sat down by the Courts of the Other Stairs, and on one occasion the accused was fully released. [...]
The maximum sentence on an accused for serious murder, according to the Kosovo Republic Penal Code, is life imprisonment.
But, this condemnation that was pronounced in Kosovo several times, never received a seal underneath by domestic courts.
The founding courts in Kosovo had pronounced this sentence in the case of Donjeta Pajaziaj's murder, Armanda Alius, Valbona Mark, Sabe Mavroqani, and in the case of the murder of Jetmir Ali.
But in all such cases, life sentences were reduced or destroyed by higher courts, confirmed by the Judiciary Council.
From the Kosovo Institute for Justice, they say they hope a practice the same as in other cases will not happen in the case of Marigona Osmani.
“I don't want to believe and should not happen that even for certain procedural violations as it has happened in the past that a case in which life sentence has been pronounced has been turned into retrial and restoration, no matter what sentence is pronounced in each case, the retrial creates problems in the sense of treating cases, because it drags on the case and in new judgments are new platforms for family<1>, Gzim Shala told RTV Dukagini.
On the other hand, attorney Florim Shefqeti says that the sentences in cases of murder should be stricter, in order to make society vulnerable, until he shows why cases of eternal imprisonment do not take a cut.
This major return of subjects should be a signal to the prosecution and the court for the actual situation to be proven on the test, but in the type of our trial system, the prosecution's body, respectively, has said Sheqeti.
Basically life sentences, in some cases they were reduced by the Court of Appeals, or Supreme Court, in 25 years.
Recently, the Supreme Court has acquitted Naser Pajazitaj, who was twice sentenced to life in prison on charges of the murder of Donjeta Pajazaj.
