Kurtit fails infrastructure projects within Kosovo, oriented towards Tetovo

Albin Kurti recently promised the 200m-euro tunnel connecting Prizren and Tetovo. Let's not start any new big project. He has yet to finalize any of the existing infrastructure projects that he inherited [...]
He has yet to finalize any of the existing infrastructure projects, which he inherited from past governments, within two and a half years. The Gjilan highway, Pristina road Pristina Podujevo, that Pristina Mitrovica is three unfinished projects.
The expansion of the Istog National Roads has not occurred - Five. -Decan-Gjakov-Prizren, nor rehabilitation of the national Qafe Duhdhl-Stime-Feriizaj streets.
No board has been thrown for the construction of Prizren-Tetovo's Decan-Plav border roads.
All those mentioned roads are envisioned in Kurti Government program.
Gjilan Highway Telenovela
Prime Minister Isa Mustafa, in 2017, had first step towards building this highway. It had contracted about 100m euros to some economic operators.
Mustafa's contracting companies changed them with the return to power, Ramush Haradinaj.
That's because the tender went to re-evaluate and after complaints companies filed under the claim of violations of the law. Haradinaj's deals on the project were also delivered with major allegations of corruption.
Kosovo's Special Prosecutor had filed charges against Betim Recica and three other officials regarding the Gjilan Highway.
Highway work was meant to be carried out for two years.
From 2017 to 2023, a total of 6 years have passed and many governments have changed, reports “Front Online”.
What is known, however, is that the auto has not yet been inaugurated.
Prime Minister Albin Kurti promises the opening takes place this year.
According to him, over 70% of the works have been completed.
“has completed over 70% of the works. We visited three floors. The first deck of over 4.8km long, the second round of 2.5 km, and the third floor of 2.2km, we also saw the work being done for the underpass between the first river and the second note that will thus enable the connections of the villages Smallsha and Slovi to also have access. In all, this piece will have a length of 22.8km, from Banula to Lipjan to Bresalci in Gjilan”, the prime minister said.
Works on the Pristina Motorway Gnjilan are contracted to eight economic operators or an economic operator is a major worker in a tear, when it is known that this road segment is divided into 8 tears.
Pristina Podujevo Road
The same fate, like the Gjilan highway, has followed the Pristina route Pristina Podujevo.
The jobs they've been dragging on for six years since they started. Delays are continuing at Kurti Government.
Infrastructure Minister Lieburn Aliu had promised that within 2 months the road would be completed.
That's not what happened. The dictatorship he runs has allocated 38m euros to economic operators -- of which 8m for the Bujar Shaban company, the number two dot at the ministry, Hysen Durmish.
Front Online had reported exclusively on this contract, suspected of pure conflict of interest. This was because on the basis of secured documents it was seen that Durmish's million contract had signed to his friend himself, even if he denied something like that, reports “Front Online”.
The Ministry of Infrastructure has even signed contracts with companies for construction of the Pristina-Podujevo road, as well as that for the winner of one of the tender tears, there were unattended complaints in the Procuring Organisation (OSHP). This is fundamentally contrary to the Public Procure Law.
Several weeks ago Prime Minister Albin Kurti inaugurated the work of expanding Podujevo-Pristina Street.
According to him, this road will be conducted in a year.
“15 km is the length of the road we are expanding. The value of the project is 35m euros. For 365 working days, the long-term wait will be closed. Congratulations, everyone. ”, Kurti wrote.
Pristina Mitrovica, a decade of work, nothing finished
For a decade now, works have been under way on the Pristina road Mitrovica.
In spite of that, they have not been committed so far because of problems with property there, reports “Front Online”.
In 2013, the Finance Ministry led by former Minister Besim Beqaj had signed a co-operation agreement with Saudi Kingdom Development Fund Vice President Mohammed A. Al-Jennail to expand the magistrates.
The deal envisioned the value of the project to be about $60 million and was expected to be completed sometime around 2017.
Environment, Space Planning and Infrastructure Minister Lieburn Aliu gave the one-year term for completion of the works, which are expected to begin in the autumn.
According to him, the issue of expropriation has already been settled.
“Komator and early October be the time when we start realising jobs in the Mitrovica project, and this has a one-year deadline. That's, well, that's the situation, so we can be accused and all, but that's the situation. On the streets of Mitrovica, we have worked intensively and have come to this point. There's been a lot of trouble, I think we've closed and we're willing to continue with this” project, he added.
Other infrastructure projects
During Kurti Government, the expansion of the national streets has not yet taken place - Five. -Decan-Gjakov-Prizren, nor rehabilitation of the national Qafe Duhdhl-Stime-Feriizaj streets.
No board has been thrown for the construction of Prizren-Tetovo's Decan-Plav border roads.
That's despite having to make it happen in Kurti's 2021 government programme 2025.
Opposition: Government Least Kurti in History for Capital Investment
Regarding the failure to realise these projects, the opposition has blamed Kurti Government.
Arben Mustafa is co-ordinator of the Department for Finance in the Parliament for Good Governance of the Democratic Party of Kosovo.
He says the Kurti Government represents the weakest government Kosovo has ever had when it comes to drafting and implementing public capital projects.
The “since coming to power except that they have not drafted any new serious capital project, nor can they complete previously launched projects. The idea for the Prizren road -- Tetovo -- represents only another popular idea of Prime Minister Kurti, which is not based on any analysis of economic reasonableness”, the potential Mustafa for “Front Online”.
Except Mustafa said Kurt's promise of the 200 million tunnel linking Prizren and Tetovo testifies to the lack of vision the executive has.
The “should be mindful that we have built one of the most beautiful highways in Europe linking Kosovo with Northern Macedonia and the question of where the need for such a large investment of 200m euros lies for a new road linking Kosovo to this state. In addition to being motivated by popularism, ideas like this reflect the huge lack of ideas this government has to put public money into the function of the country's economic development”, Mustafa told “Front Online”.
Kurti Tunnel
Prime Minister Albin Kurti, during his visit to northern Macedonia, has called for the quick start of operations for the start of the Prizren-Tetovo road construction.
He cited the opening of a 200m-euro tunnel for connecting both cities.
The pre-calculated <x0.>The presumption of this axis of major interstate, national, regional and European importance is about 200m euros, 3/4 for the tunnel and the rest for the roads on both sides of it that connect Prizren and Tetovo, linking Tetovo to Prizren”, Kurti has declared.
