Speaking during a visit to the inauguration of a road reappointed on 11 August in northern Macedonia, Kurti said the Prizren-Tetovo road would significantly help the development of Kosovo and North Macedonia.
“Axis linking Prizren and Tetovo is agreement between our two governments, from the joint meeting, signed by the two prime ministers -- me and the Macedonian counterpart [Dimitar] Kovachevski. So we want this feasibility study to be followed as quickly as possible with the work and implementation of this big project”, Kurti said.
In September 2021, the Government of Kosovo and Macedonian signed the road construction agreement that would link Prizren in southern Kosovo with Tetovo in northwest northern Macedonia.
Kurti stressed that he expects the Government of Northern Macedonia “to engage in this project”, which he said has a feasibility study.
“Based on estimates, not a high cost, is an affordable cost. But the return to this investment is remarkable, as time cuts and time is earned benefit both citizens and the economy,” underlined Kurti in Tetovo's mountain village of Vica.
Prime Minister Kurti visited Cirin in Skopje, where he participated in the inauguration of a road named after Kosovo event “Adem Demacci” in the Cair municipality.
Kurti did not meet with representatives of the ruling political parties during this visit to Northern Macedonia, but was accompanied by opposition leaders, Democratic Movement head Izet Mexhidi, the head of Besa, Bilall Kasami, and the Alternative, Africa Gashi.
