Kosovo's ambassador to Germany, Faruk Ajjeti, has reacted to the joint letter that has been drafted for Kosovo-Serbia relations and changing access to Serbia from the EU, the US and Great Britain.
Ajjet mentioned that the letter was drafted by the heads of German Bundestag foreign policy commissions Michael Roth, of the US Senate, Bob Menandez, of the British Parliament, Alicia Kearns, and the heads of foreign affairs commissions of the Czech Republic parliaments, Ukraine, Ireland, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania.
“In this joint initiative towards the international community, they seek to draw lessons from the past and not follow a policy with Belgrade in the centre of the Balkans, where Serbia should be seen as responsible for the escalation of the situation in the north of Kosovo and not follow a constructive policy towards Belgrade, which has proved that it is not functioning. Kosovo is a sovereign country and a functional democracy. This fact should constitute the basis of our common policy on the current crisis”, the announcement said.
