In the KFOR communiqué, it is said that the decision taken at a technical meeting held by Kosovo Police, EULEX and KFOR are an important step towards de-progressing tensions and promoting dialogue.
“in this direction, KFOR agrees that there has been an improvement in the security situation in the area, but is it important to clarify that our view is not the result of a joint assessment activity”, the KFOR communiqué reportedly broadcast Telegragraphy.
According to KFOR, a joint assessment, in fact, is a different procedure that requires specific actions, data availability and systematic assessments in which KFOR's role, as agreed between NATO and the EU, should only be considered appropriate and subject to KFOR commander's approval.
NATO-led KFOR's “Mission fully supports the EU-brokered dialogue and remains in close contact and co-ordination with all local and international co-ordinators”, the communiqué says. /Periscopi
