KEDS imposes 27km of underground 31 transformer lines at Pristina's Ulpiana and Dardani

KEDS has started with massive investments in Pristina's Ulpiana and Dardani. It's doubling the grid capacity from 10 kV to 20 kV. The cables are also being changed to all exits that will double their capacity. So there's a whole lot bigger traphus in place. This project included a total of 27km of underground line, 9.3km long, 31 new transformers, 40 khins. The investment is being made to cope with overloads, especially during the winter and create alternative exits for consumers. With the cooling of time, there are constantly problems, as some of the consumers also continue to warm themselves with electricity during winter, increasing their load greatly. KEDS is already making the solution. The parallel with this, creating alternative lines will increase supply safety, as if any defects occur on a line, consumers are supplied from the other line and are not faced with interruptions.
Thus, increased capacity and cable change there represents a long-term solution, valid for many decades of the future.
Works in these two neighbourhoods are continuing with high intensity, at the Ulpiana, Dardania and White Cross exits, which will benefit nearly 50,000 residents of Pristina. The entire network is underground, in line with the planning of the capital's two most urbanised neighbourhoods.
Investments in Ulpiana and Dardani are part of the KED's investment mega in Pristina, which has begun for years now and is aimed at bringing cables underground, doubling capacities -- the transition from 10 kV to 20 kV -- and the creation of unatomic connections, where consumers will be supplied in case of any problems from alternative exits.
These investments are the living of KED's commitment to getting closer to Kosovo citizens and constantly improving services for them.
