Zelel, according to its data, has received US permission for the sale of the air defence system “Arrow 3” in Germany. This is the biggest deal in Israeli history, said a Defence Ministry report. The US State Department has handed the decision to Israel on Thursday.
US approval was seen as the main obstacle to the historic agreement between Germany and Israel. Negotiations on this took place after the beginning of the Russian war in Ukraine. The deal was to be signed by the defence ministries of both countries, and Israel's air industry said in the announcement.

Provided by Special Fund for German Army
The parliamentary budget and defence commissions in Bundestag gave the go-ahead for this agreement in June. The cost amounts to about 4 billion euros, according to Israeli data. The financing will be obtained from the special German military fund, which was adopted in response after the war began in Ukraine 100 billion euros. “Arrow 3” is produced as co-operation with Israel and the US. It is expected to be available in 2025. /dw
