Ibrahim warns of sending a tax tax law to Constitution

Kosovo Commission Association Director (AKK), Saban Ibrahimi after the North Mitrovica municipality's membership in the AKK has said other municipalities are also welcome.

On show “FIVE”, Ibrahimi has said that all municipalities are welcome to be part of the mechanism strengthening local democracy.

He has announced that during the assembly of the Association Assembly today, it has not been the only topic for North Mitrovica municipality membership.

Ibrahim has said that the subject was also property tax, where, as he pointed out, the legislative law for it is most likely to be forwarded to the Constitutional Court.

This, he said, is because the central level through this property tax law is trying to interfere with financial autonomy.

“We as a board considered the possibility that maybe we could start procedures so that the mandated property tax law can be processed to Constitutional”, he has followed.

By contrast, today the Association of Kosovo municipalities (AKK) has indicated that North Mitrovica has joined this association during the extraordinary assembly of this entity on August 22nd.

The vote on North Mitrovica's membership in the AKK has passed with the votes of all the Assembly delegates and has come after the Northern Community's request, which takes decision in the Assembly of the Community to join the Association”, said the AKK's announcement.

After membership, according to the AKK's announcement, North Mitrovica Chairman Erden Attic said happy with the unanimous vote and said he would contribute to addressing the challenges of local governance.
