Despite the call to apply for subsidies from the Ministry of Agriculture this year was earlier, farmers complain of default.
Farmers from the village of Zhartar in Ferizaj municipality, Shukri Salahi, who has planted about 100 hectare of wheat, ask the state to subsidize before starting to plant seed. According to him, there are delays in subsidies last year too.
Even the potato farmer, Bedri Kasumi, says the government should definitely help with subsidies before starting work.
That the subsidy criteria must be changed, says farmer from the Crenasis Community, Hajredin Buyup, who has planted about 15 hectares of wheat.
Buyupi says that despite the government's promise that part of the subsidies will be executed earlier this year, the promise has not yet been kept.
While, Agriculture Commissioner Imer Rusinovac says subsidies should be provided before farmers start work. He adds that the country should consider other stimulating measures for farmers.
Three weeks ago, the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Rural Development has announced that they have prosecuted only 2m euros for payment from the 2023 Direct Taxation Programme. According to the ministry, payment for fertilisation and oil will be processed after farmers bring the bills as evidence, until the entire budget for farmers this year according to the Government is about 100m euros. / KP
