Germany is an immigrant country. So says the Ministry of Internal Affairs on its official page.
More than a quarter of citizens have migraines and even more than a third of their children under the age of 14. In addition, some 13.5 million citizens without German citizenship live in the country with 16 percent of the population.
However, when it comes to naturalization - granting citizenship for foreigners - Germany is among the last countries in Europe. Since, in 2021, ten citizenships were granted to 100 foreigners in Sweden and 5.4 in the Netherlands, the quota was 1.2 percent in Germany last year.
