Pulmonary Observatory disease (SPOK, COPD) is a disease (patology) affecting the lungs and can be prevented. It is marked by an irreversible or partially reverberable narrowness of air routes.
This object is usually progressive, and it is accompanied by an abnormal chronic inflammation response of the lungs to dust particles and/or gases such as carbon monoxide present in tobacco smoke and the carbon diocsode found in the polluted environmental air that surrounds us.
SPOK is the third cause of death worldwide and the second cause of complete disability. Over three million deaths from this world - ranking disease were reported in 2010.
In Albania this pathology is not well known and therefore remains unagnosed and/or abused. Studies show that our country has a high-precaution SPEC, affecting approximately 5-6% of the population.
What are the causes of this disease?
Smoking is the main and most common cause. Other factors that are mentioned are known: environmental pollution, deficits of CO1-antitripsis, age, diet and low physical activity.
