Indictee Driton Maloku from Switzerland's Swiss-based Pristina has pleaded guilty to charges of beating Kosovo Parliament MP Ganimete Musliu. The latter during her statement has said the accused was not sincere when he pleaded guilty. And I admit it... it was emotional, and it wasn't [...]

While damaged Musliu said he praised the initiative for apologizing on the part of the accused Maloku, but, according to her, the plea was unrealistic.

“I appreciate the initiative to apologize, but I also noticed the insincereness in the quest for forgiveness, this admission of guilt is irrefutable”, Musliu said damaged.

The same said that the chance of high-level state figures was on the rise, and in this case the lawyer asked the court to respond to this phenomenon through the trial of this case, which would serve as a good example of judicial practice where persons who deliberately tried to elect the people to receive merit sentences.

Presequently, the defender of the accused Maloku, lawyer Skender Musa, said the guilty plea was made in line with legal provisions and after a sufficient consultation with his defence.

Lawyer Musa also demanded from the court that during the measurement of the sentence to take into account the fact that guilty pleas, pleas, proposing to the court that a conditional sentence be pronounced against the accused Maloku because there is no danger of similar acts repeated.

While the guilty plea was not rejected by prosecutor Zana Sadiku-Sertoll, who the judge proposed that he plead guilty and pronounce merit sentences taking into account guilty pleas as extenuating circumstances, while as grave circumstances consider the extent of his willingness to commit criminal work.

The plea was approved by Judge Driton Berisha after the legal conditions were met and that, according to him, there was no legal offense.

The announcement of the indictment regarding this criminal case will take place on 7 August 2023.

According to the indictment compiled on May 18, 2023, with the date of December 23, 2022 about 17:16, until the damage to Ganimette Musliu was in her car in the neighborhood of “In Pristina, accused Driton Maloku through mobile phone and injured Ganimete Musliu in the quality of the Kosovo Assembly deputy with words “Are you Ganimet, you have to disappear” and then a few minutes from around 17:35 you send a text message via text phone to “Ganimes, Are you going to get that sort of job for what you're paying for or returning 20,000 euros that you've done for me. This is going to have to do with your cell phone with the texting “Ghanim>;

With this accused Maloku is accused of committing a provisional criminal offence by Article 181, paragraph 3 concerning paragraph 2 of the Republic of Kosovo Penal Code. The maximum penalty for this offense is set at five years in prison.
