EU report on Kosovo: The situation in the north remains challenging, crisis in the dialogue process

The situation in northern Kosovo is considered challenging even in the European Union's Human Rights Report.
The report says that the resignation of Serbs from public institutions has negatively affected security, rule of law and justice system.
The “Situate in northern Kosovo remains challenging, especially in terms of judging corruption, organised crime and conditions for freedom of expression, including attacks on media professionals. The mass resignation of Kosovo Serbs from public institutions and the establishment of subsequent roadblocks negatively affected the security situation and rule of law in the northern region, where the justice system and police function with reduced capacity of”, the report said.
Among other things, it has been said that the strengthening of election processes is needed.

Not to be mentioned is the process of dialogue for it being said that a regular political dialogue is held in Kosovo, in both technical aspects and political levels.
“The EU continues to facilitate dialogue for normalising relations between Kosovo and Serbia. There have been repeated crises in relations between Kosovo and Serbia in 2022, and the situation on the ground remains fragile”.
Similarly, Kosovo's application for membership in the European Union and the Council of Europe was stressed.
The EU will continue to monitor closely respect for human rights in Kosovo. This includes freedom of rally and association, freedom of expression, the rights of persons in vulnerable situations, including those belonging to minorities; the right to equality and discrimination; children, LGBTI persons and disabled persons, as well as gender equality, as part of Kosovo's European path.
