EU measures affected all sectors: Over 500 million damage

If the measures imposed by the European Union towards Kosovo do not depart, the damages the country will have will amount to over 500m euros, so they estimate connoisseurs of economic issues. According to them, the manufacturer's businesses have been affected, even saying power is trying to minimize the negative effects of these measures [...]
The chairman of the Kosovo Alliance of Business (AKB), Agim Sahin, has said that EU measures towards Kosovo have affected the country's economy, adding that Kosovo is being stalled in this direction.
According to estimates they have made it turns out that the country will lose more than 500m euros, including state, central, local, but also businesses that have had projects and have projects with IPA.
He adds that Kosovo is in a position that has never been in investment and projects before.
The “measures undertaken by international institutions against Kosovo have almost affected the overall political economy in integration, and Kosovo is getting stuck in that direction. According to our accounts, if these measures continue further the damage will be more than 500m euros”.
“Including both state, central, local, but also businesses that have had projects and have projects with IPA programmes and other EU programmes. Kosovo is in no worse position at all as far as funding private-public projects to Kosovo from the EU”.
Former head of the Kosovo Economic Ode (OEK) Safet Gerjaliu, said power is downplaying the negative effects of these measures. According to him, a country aimed at being penalised in this form is extremely disturbing.
Gerjaliu adds that with this trend Kosovo will not have growth economies, nor an improved balance of payments, reports Online Economy.
“I believe that it is time for these measures to be treated more seriously, not neglected. Unfortunately, the negative effects of these measures are taking place in Kosovo in particular by power. On the political side, they really don't do Kosovo a favour such a reality, because being a country that claims to be in Europe and the future, being punished and penalised in this way is a damage that will really affect Kosovo's image. We have funds freeze which are destined to support the private sector, especially local producers. To say today that these measures do not even affect how in Kosovo we believe it is the worst that Kosovo can become”.
And the fact that we have environmental projects, that we have energy projects, that we have other projects that are fully stopped and that the current situation is best witnessed. Therefore, I believe that with this trend and these measures Kosovo will not have economic growth, Kosovo will not improve the balance of payments, Kosovo will not be competitive with competition, and above all Kosovo will not create new jobs”.
