A eurodeput from the Netherlands has been waiting since September for the union, which has 27 member states to move towards the removal of punitive measures it imposed on Kosovo in June.
Thijs Reuten, considers that Brussels was wrong with official Pristina when it imposed punitive measures as a result of not breaking the situation in the north.
Meanwhile, as a result of the July 10th EU-Kosovo deal, the tunnel has already started in the field. In two 50% police tours, it withdrew from and around municipal buildings in three municipalities.
The European Union has taken insulating and unbalanced approach, in what happened at the end of May. Forgetting all that happened before and after that. We did not see such a strong reaction when three policemen were kidnapped on Kosovo territory from Serbia. These officers, although released, are still being prosecuted”, Reuten told Klan Kosova.
The Dutch lawmaker at the European Parliament (PE) is one of the signatories of European and American politicians' letter sent to decision-making centres that require concrete action, especially in the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue.
We expect clear co-ordination between the EU, the US, Great Britain and other allies in the international community. Because we need to get to the clear line, when it comes to talking about the responsibility of President Vuciq, the whole process. And let's make it clear that we're going back to a dialogue facilitated by the EU, towards normalisation, as soon as possible”, he added.
