Of course, the resignation is the easiest and fastest way to proclaim new elections, because the moment the mayors resign, legal procedures for election proclamation would begin and continue as they were held earlier. However, resigning should be a voluntary act of mayors, because otherwise, any voluntary resignation would be considered a violation and those chiefs under pressure have resigned”, Daka said.
The former CEC chairman said that before deciding for new elections, “should be found a political agreement”, as according to her, the non-participation of Serbian citizens in the election will bring the same situation as after the April elections.
