Selajdin Beqa, task manager of the Kosovo Competition Authority, has said several supermarkets are being investigated over the issue.
He in KTV has indicated that he is investigating what happened in that period on the Kosovo market.
We're looking at the time and situation created of chaos and panic because there was chaos at that time and panic among citizens because there was no oil on the shelves. We're starting to investigate supermarkets, hypermarkets. The first allegations were in these because there were prices of 1.50 cents and then released at 3.49. We've opened the conclusion of opening the procedure and we'll see what happened in that period”, he stressed.
Beqa has declared that supermarkets are being investigated for prohibited deals concerning the price of oil.
“ (are investigating) For prohibited agreements because we think that they have directly or indirectly set the price of oil or the prices of trading. Likewise, restrictions and other elements that may be in the face of abuse of collective or common dominant positions among these companies. First we've opened procedure against five companies, but during the investigation we'll see if there are elements, we can open up to another”.
