At least 10 people have lost their lives in the sights that hit a town near Beijing, Chinese officials said Saturday, causing the death toll from the recent flooding in northern China to rise to at least 30.
Death cases as a result of the floods were reported by officials in Baoding, about 150 miles [150 km] from Beijing. It is also reported for 18 missing persons in this part of the country.
The Doksuri Storm, a former powerful guard who hit China on Friday, has brought the biggest rains in the region since 140 years ago.
By Saturday, more than 600 thousand residents of Boyding, which has 11.5 million inhabitants, were evacuated from areas described as endangered by floods, officials reported.
The kidnapped rains that hit northeastern China on Saturday damaged the provinces at the border with Russia and North Korea.
Red alert remains in effect in Beijing because of <x0 geohazard”, such as landslides that connect to the bad weather.
Cleanup operations are continuing, following heavy rainfall, which destroyed the infrastructure and completely flooded many districts.
China has been hit hard from extreme weather in recent months, from heat waves that break records to deadly flows.
