The budget responsibility at the White House, Shala Young, has indicated, that the US government is applying for additional military, economic and humanitarian aid to Ukraine, as well as for other countries suffering from the effects of Russia's “brutal takeover” in Ukraine.
The United States is Ukraine's main supporter in the defence fight against Russia. Since the start of Russia's legal war in February 2022, Washington has promised Kiev military aid at the value of more than $43 billion. In the opposition Republicans' ranks, expanded military aid partly faces criticism.
Meanwhile in Zaporica in Ukraine, a hotel in the city has been hit by a Russian rocket Iskander, where one person has passed away and 16 others have been injured, among them four children. According to local media, the Reycartz hotel in the center of town is often used by UN employees. “I am shocked by news that a hotel often used by UN employees and nongovernmental organisations supporting people affected by the war” has been expressed by UN co-ordinator for humanitarian aid in Ukraine Denise Brown.
