For cultural heritage institutions this act is alarming in some respects. The democratisation of cultural heritage assets in Kosovo is sanctioned with Penal Code. Even with the Law for Cultural Heritage, fines total up to 500,000 euros.
The Ministry of Culture as a responsible institution for cultural heritage has been alarmed by this act of Constitutional Court in Peja on 22 June this year, a year after the establishment of the indictment, when the monument collapsed. That's why he's taken action.
In his reply TIMES, the Ministry of Culture, through the subordinate institutions, the Regional Cultural Heritage Centre in Pec, and the Institute for Cultural Heritage has taken all measures to address this case in competent institutions.
The annihilation of objects that are part of cultural heritage, with awareness and eventual will by anyone, is considered a violation. Each subject of the right that has been defeated and should have known that degradation of cultural heritage is a serious act, because it results in the annihilation of the historical values and identity of the Republic of Kosovo, bearing prior criminal responsibility under the Penal Code of the Republic of Kosovo”, is recorded in the responses of the MKRS. According to the MKRS, all steps have been taken in this case.
