For 7 months, more than 100 doctors fled, and triple more nurses

The challenge for the Kosovo Hospital and University Clinic Hospital Service continues to remain lack of staff. Plerata Sejdiu from the Oda of Kosovo Doctors, in an interview for Front Online, says the medics' departure has not been replaced.

The most pronounced problem is the middle framework.

And the replacements were not even made in the Family Medicine Centers.

The “is dependent on the sector, there is a difference in the problems presented in these problems is lack of staff. Especially the middle framework has problems, but in many cases there are problems in the higher framework, in this case experts. It is known that in the past year there have been considerable movements, either of young doctors who have gone and could not be replaced, in health homes, especially”, he says.

In addition to the departure of doctors, Sejdiu pays attention to the consequences caused in hospitals.

He says the most pronounced has been the departure of anesthesiologist.

There's been a very sensitive migration for hospitals, especially of anesthesiologists and the private sector, and that means the chain is cut off in the surgery fluids, the normal operating chain of those” has been cut off.

Sejdiu also mentioned the importance given to the mechanical means of equipment by not maintaining it.

In addition, he lists several other reasons for the departure of doctors.

The second “The second part is, there are years that have not given much importance to the maintenance of the devices. There's no importance to professional training, we're talking about equipment that's been bought, or new methods to be implemented in treatment. Early lack of materials needed for treatment and these have all made a kind of despair or reflected as despair at professionals”, he says of Front Online.

Within this seven month, about 100 doctors from Kosovo have left.

The head of the Oda of Doctors, Plerat Sejdiu, says most have been unemployed.

As in last year, this season is expected to be the same departure of doctors, says Sejdiu.

The number of doctors who have left Kosovo is over 100. Over the course of three months, it's a little bit down, and it's connected directly to the specialization competition, because most of them are young doctors and unemployed doctors who, in fact, because of not having specialisations, primary sector commitments, and they're gone. It's almost like last year. Last year there were over 200-210 who left, even this year approximately expected to be that number of removed doctors”, he said of Front Online.

Sejdiu in an interview for Front Online says the number of nurses abroad is triple that of doctors.

The number of nurses who have fled abroad is triple the number of doctors. We don't have accurate data, but usually during these years, if a doctor went, then three more nurses have gone”, he said of Front Online.

Head of the Medical Oda: For five years, more than 550 medical teams left Kosovo

The chairman of the Oda of Medicines, Pleat Sejdiu, in an interview for Front Online says that over 550 medical teams have left Kosovo for 5 years.

For four and a half years, five, as we monitor this movement, around 550 medical teams have left Kosovo”, he says further.

Sejdiu Pleas: Doctor leave, raise QKUK waiting list

Out of the country, anesthesiologists have mostly escaped.

And this, the chairman of the Oda of Doctors, Plerat Sejdiu, says it has influenced the waiting list and patients' discontent has increased.

It depends on sectors. The worst hit has also been the surgery sectors, where a number of anesthesiologists have gone and automatically reduced work in the hall, waiting lists have increased, and patients' discontent has increased”, he tells the Front Online.

Over 600 unemployed doctors, Sejdiu points to reasons

Until a year ago, the main reason for the medics' departure abroad has been the salary.

While now according to the head of the Oda of Doctors, Streat Sejdiu's reason is no employment.

“in 2022 and this year, few reasons have changed, until 2022, every first time it was pay, then it was working conditions, and conditions of specialization. After the wages have grown a little, we have employment” in the salary end, he says.

Sejdiu says there are 600 doctors who are unemployed.

We have over 600 doctors in our age who are reported as unemployed, the second is the quality of specialisations, all of these are that they are, and the third has been the question of working conditions”, he said.

Chairman of the Oda of Medicine: Co-operation with the Ministry of Health Is Left to Want

The chairman of the Oda of Medicines, Pleave Sejdiu, until he spoke about the problems they are facing, also talks about their cooperation with the Ministry of Health.

According to what Sejdiu said in an interview with Front Online, co-operation with the health dictatorship is not at the right level.

“Co-operation with the ministry leaves much to be desired. It's a task coordinate vacuum”, he says.
