150 thousand euros is the cost of subsidising the Pristina municipality for adopting stray dogs. The director for Security and Emergencyship in the Pristina municipality, Lulzim Fushtica, has made this known.
Fushtica has stated that during this time the draft contract for the way dogs adapt and that within two weeks this process is expected to begin.
In addition, Fushtica says there are fines for abusers, ranging from 1,000 to 3 thousand euros.
He says that the contract has also specified details of the duties taken from the capital and the person adapting the animal.
“In the capital's Assembly of Parliament, 150 thousand euros have been earmarked for the start of the project for adopting stray dogs. In the meantime, during this time, we've also drafted the draftometer that means that the contract that will be made to adopt dogs is as comprehensive as animals are protected from various abuses. In the contract we have prepared and will be ready, I hope very soon, all the details of what are the obligations that the capital receives, but also the person that adopts the animal”, says Fushtica, as it shows there will also be a website for informing citizens of the process.
We expect the adaptation process to begin within a week or two. We're also waiting to start licensed housing that is not the capital's, which we're not licensed from, and from there it can get adopted were and we're also going to open a website where we're going to populate it with more necessary information about what the adaptation process is like, which is that it can adapt and so on. The purpose of this project is to get stray dogs off the road and to be provided security to the citizens of capital”, Fushtica says.
Futica says fines for abusers have been introduced in the contract as well. He says after adopting dogs, there will be contract managers to monitor how dogs are treated by citizens who adopt them.
In any contract, not one percent can be eliminated in any project, but what I have to say is we have fines for abusers, and the fines will be between 1,000 and 3 thousand euros. We also have the contract monitoring mechanism, first there will be contract management that is normal, but a added value is that we'll engage the animal protection associations that we're going to want them to buy the inspection of contract implementation. So how the citizen who adopted a dog is treating dogs”, he says. / EO/
