From Ukraine it becomes known that the recent Russian attacks on the Black Sea port city of Odessa have killed two civilians, 22 people have been injured, and residential apartments have been damaged.
“Odesa: Another attack night of monsters”, wrote in the Telegram service, Oleh Kipper, governor of the southern Ukrainian region of Odessa, suggesting that “unfortunately we have a civilian who has been killed”. According to Kipper data there has been damage to “civil infrastructure, residential buildings and religious institutions.” According to agencies, the city's largest Orthodox church has also been severely damaged. Two civilians have been killed Sunday by Kiev and 22 people have been injured following Russian attacks on Odessa.
The Ukrainian Army in early June signalled the counteroffensive aim of regaining areas occupied by Russia. The stated purpose was also to place crime under Ukraine's control. Through the Crimean Peninsula, much of the supplies for Russian troops to the south of Ukraine are extended. Only early this week was a 19km-long bridge attack linking Russian land and Crimea damaged.
Meanwhile, the Ukrainian Army has confirmed an attack on the Crime Peninsula, annexed by Russia in 2014. The attack Saturday was intended to hit “military target” and was carried out by Ukrainian military forces, said by military circles, according to “tageschau”. No more details have been given. Earlier, Moscow's acting governor, Sergey Aksyonov, had indicated that through a fearful attack by Ukraine, an ammunition depot was detonated. Thereafter, the decision was made to evacuate a region to a three - mile [5 km] circuit. According to Aksyonov, the train movement was temporarily interrupted. / DW
