War crimes charges filed against a Serb

The Special Prosecutor of the Republic of Kosovo (PSRK) has filed an indictment at the Constitutional Court in Pristina today, the Special Department, against defendants with the initials Z.A. The Special Prosecutor of the Republic of Kosovo (PSRK) has filed an indictment at the Constitutional Court in Pristina today, the Special Department, against defendants with the initials Z.A. Serbian nationality.

“Special Prosecutor announces that there is a well-based doubt that defendant Mr. A, during the war period in Kosovo, in co-ordination with other Serb police members, uniformed in Serbian police uniform and armed, had stopped him at the centre of the city of Kamenica being injured B.M. By tormenting him in ways dehumanized, tortured and causing serious bodily injury, trauma and health consequences, as well as by seriously putting him to life for an hour and a half, actions sanctioned according to local laws, customs of war and the Geneva International Convention and Staff Protocols”, the announcement says.

Also, the defendant, Mr. A. in co-ordination with other Serb police and paramilitary groups, has taken part in the deportation and violent deportation of Kamenica citizens with the districts, then started robbing houses, and then in order to damage Albanians' property have set fire, and have also participated in mistreating Albanian civilians.

With these actions, the defendant, Mr. A. has committed criminal work <x0... War crimes against the civilian population from Article 142 concerning RSP's Article 22.
