Serbia's president, Aleksandar Vuciq, has said Saturday that it is Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti's wish to bring Serbia into conflict with NATO, but that way, according to him, must be avoided.

In a TV show on Prva, Nezavisne broadcasts, Vuciq has accused Kurti of lying when he says Kosovo is being armed because of Serbian bases near the border with Kosovo.

There have been no more of our bases since the conflict with NATO. He is looking for enough reason for the nonsense he says to draw Serbia into conflict with NATO. This is their political desire and we must avoid it”, Vuciq said.

He added that he hopes Serbia will preserve peace, “that we will do our best, and it has, talked to NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg”. Vuciqi believes more efforts must be made by the Serbian side and stressed there is nothing more valuable than peace.

According to Vuciqi, when some people react emotionally and say we need “although we end”, that means these people, as the Serbian president says, do not understand the consequences.

It's a better choice not to let anything like that happen. We are making great effort, silenced by the atrocities coming from Pristina, and react gently, not because it is a sign of our weakness, but of responsibility. We'll see if we're gonna succeed in this”, Vuciq said. /Time
