Kosovo is the address of many foreign tourists who visit the country to explore nature, but also history, tradition and culture. However, pending foreign visitors, the country still has no licensed cigarettes.
But hosting tourists in our country is largely done by various associations. The danger at this point often exists for distorting facts in the absence of licensed guidemen. From the Kosovo Alternative Tourism Association, they say that the call has already been opened for the license of tourrs who have conducted training and who are professionalised.
Kosovo was the previously unvisited destination for two tourists from England. They say what brought them the most here is history.
I came from England, specifically from London. It is the first time we have visited Kosovo, we have stayed for five days, and today we leave. The people here were very kind, the place here was beautiful and more hope for the future. We've heard a little bit about your history and for that reason we wanted to come here because sometimes when you hear from the “out of” you can't get the whole picture or maybe it makes you feel scared, but we've learned a lot more but that we still have a lot of questions to ask”, said the tourist, Harry Cytbee.
The people here are very warm, very beautiful city and many stories. I'd like to visit your country again. In addition to Pristina, I have visited other cities, such as Gjakova, Prizren and Pea, and we have had a great time --”, tourist Tabibeth Patson said.
But hosting tourists in our country is done mainly by different associations, but not also licensed guiders. This also raises the problem with malinformation.
Bekim Xhelilily, a ethnologist, has also been exercising the task of cultural guide or tour guide on Kosovo's territory for several years. He says that throughout the course of the year, the number of foreign tourists visiting the Ethnological Museum totals up to 20,000, but, according to him, continued to remain from foreign tours.
“We have the following case when they said that only 60-70 per cent are Albanians and the rest are Serbs and other communities, that we are not against the other communities that are in Kosovo, but as information is not accurate. Then with the religion part, and especially the part of politics as a topic or as a sensitive area that is in Kosovo, in the region and the Balkans, that's why local guide”, Bekim Xhemili, guide, said.
From the Kosovo Alternative Tourism Association, they say the call has already been opened for the license of guidemen who have conducted training and who have been professionalised.
This is very important to us because the tourism union has raised its voice for years to do this, because we've had tours from different countries that have elaburu, our culture, history and tradition as they wanted it to, so they've deviated from reality”, said Bucky Hoti, from the Kosovo Alternative Tourism Association.
Under the administrative directive, all tours that operate without licenses will not be able to work, otherwise they will be fined. / RTK
