The Chinese-owned video broadcast application, TikTok, says it will only offer text posts, while competition among social media giants is heated.
Earlier this month, TikTok launched a new music broadcast service for rival platforms such as Spotific and Apple Music.
And on Monday, Elon Musk's Twitter removed the famous blue bird logo and moved to a black and white X.
TikTok users will now be offered three options on app if they post photos, videos or text.
They will also be able to personalise posts by adding voice, location or Duet, which are video responses to the posts of other TikTok users.
“These features make your text posts as dynamic and interactive as any video or photo post,” TikTok said.
TikTok, who owns China's ByteDance, recently launched a new music broadcast service, TikTok Music, Brazil and Indonesia.
Last week, the company also released a beta service version in Singapore, Mexico and Australia.
A spokesman said he would allow users of “to listen, share and download the music they discovered in TikTok, as well as share their favorite songs and artists with their community, TikTok”.
The application is testing other features, including a new kind of world-elect user landscape.
In 2021, TikTok became the world's most popular online destination after having more visits than the American engine giant Google.
That year, the app also said there were more than a billion active users worldwide.
Competition between rival social media firms like Meta and X Instagram owner, Mr. Musk's newly renamed Twitter platform has been on fire in recent weeks.
This month, Meta's new Troads platform appeared at Apple and Android app stores in 100 countries, including the UK.
Meta chief Mark Zuckerberg later said his company's Threads platform had registered more than 100 million users in less than five days.
Also this week, the blue bird brand on the social Twitter network was replaced by a logo with a white X in a black background.
The quote will also be changed to “x”, according to Musk. /Top Channel
