The news has revealed the chief of information and communication with the public in Kosovo's Specialised Chambers ( DESK), Angela Greep through weekly media information on platform “soom”.
On June 28th, the prosecution handed over the list of 12 other witnesses to be called into the Thaci court case and others”, said Grieep reports Online Economy.
She explained that the list contains backup witnesses.
Explaining that the prosecution has reduced the anticipated time required to question eight of these witnesses.
“witness names have surrendered as part of a confidential extension”.
While, he argued that court hearings against former KLA leaders will begin next week from July 9th.
She also briefed on the Peter Shala court case, where two forensic experts were interviewed during this week.
“Two forensic experts gave testimony without safeguard clauses and mainly in public hearings. They were the ninth and tenth witnesses called by the Prosecutor for this court case. The Witnesses were questioned by the Prosecutor, the defence, the defender of the victims, and the judge”, she said.
For hearings on the Shala case, she indicated they are expected to resume on 21 August 2023 at 09:30.
Also, Greep informed that following the last witness testimony, the prosecution is expected to finish presenting its evidence.
“later, depending on the result of any defence motion to drop the charges, 21 August is the date in which the start of showing evidence by the victims' defender is targeted if you want to task”.
The same said that the court set September 18 as the date on which it is intended to begin presenting evidence from the defense.
