Serbia's Agency for Security and Information Director (BIA) is listed as US sanctions.
“Finally! The seal has become synonymous with corruption, puppets of Russian actions and narcotics trafficking. The very important decision of the US Treasury to sanction those who enable illegal weapons shipments promote Putin and nationalism. The EU must follow him! ”, wrote the German Eurodeput on Twitter.
The US has underlined that it will hold all those engaged in the affairs of corruption responsible and that send their own political agendas and personal interests ahead at the expense of peace and stability in the Western Balkans. These corrupt agreements facilitate Russian mountain activities in Serbia and the region.
According to the Treasury's announcement, Volin is involved in transatlantic organised crime, non-legal narcotics operations and misuse of official office. Volin's actions have advanced corruption within Serbia's ruling institutions.
Otherwise, Voulin had previously served as Minister of Defence and Interior.
