The Commission for Human Rights, Gender Equality, for Ungenerated Persons, Victims of Sex Violence of War and Petitions on Wednesday has held a meeting with a woman who was violated during the war, whose status has been denied by the victim of sexual violence.
After this meeting, the chairman of this Commission, Duda Balje, said the conversation with her was extremely emotional because of her experiences. Bale also spread his complaints to the Government Commission, which he said have many problems.
She said the rejections that are happening to these cases are unacceptable.
“The meeting has been very emotional, we've been following a woman who's experienced sexual violence in wartime and who's twice been rejected by the Victims Status Rating Commission, has really been very emotional and we've heard women's pain and is not alone. We too have many problems with this Commission, all have complaints about how they handle them when they're in front of the members. We are ready to continue the job for two more years because we are now awaiting the second vote within the session, but we have to talk to them and the way they are handling this case”, Balje said, as he also told of the facts that the violated woman introduced.
Balje said the following weeks will invite this commission to the meeting to negotiate about the rejections being made to them, EO reports.
When you're in front of the commission they want to present the facts. This case, the woman even has body marks, which we can see with after 24 years and no matter what, they still refused. I think it's been tortured, they've once experienced violence in war and are now experiencing violence by the commission. We as the Parliamentary Commission have taken the obligation to call the Victims Status Rating Commission for the coming weeks and we will talk to them about what evidence is required”.
