In an interview he has given today for Euronews Albania, regarding developments in northern Kosovo, Rama has repeatedly reiterated that Kurti is a friend, but at the end of the interview he has taken care to make a clarification.
“Albin Kurtin is my friend, Hashim Thaci is my brother, to be very clear”, Rama said.
Rama said Kurti is a friend who appreciates and respects, but that he does not understand his actions as Kosovo Prime Minister.
He said the battle he has with Kurt is neither personal nor political but conceptual.
I'd like to replay, this is a conceptual battle. This is not a personal battle, nor is it my own politics with Albin. Albin is a person I appreciate, there is a friend I respect, but in this case there is the Prime Minister of Kosovo that I cannot understand. This is a completely open, completely sincere, completely democratic confrontation for a huge interest, and this is not just the interest of the state of Kosovo. This is the interest of the Albanian nation”, Rama has said.
