Republic of Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani today awaits Prime Minister of the Republic of Albania Edi Rama at the meeting.
The office of the Kosovo presidency reports that the meeting between Osman and Rama begins at 1600.
Otherwise yesterday, Albania's Prime Minister Edi Rama refused to respond publicly to Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti's statements, as he said the meeting between them could only follow the joint meeting of the two governments.
During a statement to the media following the government's meeting, Rama said he would speak on the issue when he is in Pristina.
I don't have anything to do with this. I'm just here for this student decision. As far as going to Pristina and all tours will speak when it is time to talk that it is tomorrow in Pristina”, Rama said.
And Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti declared yesterday that unless the joint meeting between the government of Albania and Kosovo is held, there will be no other meetings between them.
Kurt said I'd only see Rama if the two governments' meetings were held, for other meetings, no.
“I consider a reasonable meeting of the two governments, but not other” meetings, he said.
Kurti has said he has proposed to Prime Minister Rama to hold the two governments' collection since Kurti “was canceled without reason”.
I'm in contact with Eddie Rama. I know I will visit Pristina, within the Balkan tour. It is said that this tour has to do with preparing the upcoming Berlin Process summit, held in October. I am friendlyly asking Prime Minister Edi Rama that after coming and staying two days and a night in Pristina, we should keep the meeting of the two governments that were unjustly canceled”, Kurti said.
The prime minister added that they have been planning to sign 13 agreements, which are now in the drawer.
I have proposed to Prime Minister Rama that we hold the joint meeting to sign those agreements that are in the drawer. So it is necessary for me to have the collection of two governments. If Edi Rama insists on canceling the two governments' collection, then I remain at the position I've told him that for meetings with the two of us we have direct contact we meet very much. The Kosovo- Albania, but also democracy and peace in the Balkans, why don't Kosovo and Albanian Prime Minister” meet, Kurti said.
On 16 October 2023, official Tirana will host the Berlin Process summit. But the Albanian government has started preparations already. In this context, Prime Minister Edi Rama will start a visit to the region Thursday, which begins from Skopje.
Rama will stay in Kosovo today, while on Friday she will attend meetings in Podgorica, Belgrade and Sarajevo.
