According to the director of the Communications Division, the number of accidents in general is a slight increase in these cases.

“Against conditions and the number of busy vehicles, especially in recent days, but also conditions that have prevailed from the first part of this year, luckily, the number of fatal accidents has marked a drop”, Rexhepi said.

He has drawn statistical comparisons in the same period last year, where, according to him, this year the number of fatal accidents is for 10 people less than last year.

The number of accidents in general marks an increase of about 5 percent until injuries and damage accidents in this part of the year mark a slight rise, some 4 to 5 percent”, Rexhepi said in “Info Plus”, RTK.

He added, further, that the arrival of fellow countrymen to Kosovo increases the number of vehicles in traffic, meaning that accidents may increase in comparison to the previous months, but in the following months.

But fortunately, the number of fatal accidents in this period marks a decline in cases compared to the same period in the past years, so Kosovo Police have established an additional commitment to have increased presence on the ground, in various patrols”, Rexhepi said, among other things.
