Kosovo and Serbia's chief negotiators, Besnik Bislimi and Petar Petkovovic, will meet in Brussels next week, has been confirmed for Radio Free Europe in Brussels.
The European Union's Special Representative for Dialogue Miroslav Lajcak invited key negotiators in Brussels next week to continue discussions on implementing the new agreement on the road to normalisation and annexing for its implementation”, an EU spokesman has said in a written response to REL in Serbian.
It is expected that the parties will agree on future steps that will enable full implementation of these agreements without further delays, the official has added.
Referring to the informal meeting Miroslav Lajcak has had with Besnik Bislitin in Bratislava on Monday 10 July, the source of the meeting. The REL has said an agreement has been reached for Kosovo's first priority steps in all three areas.
This also means that Kosovo does not take any steps that could scale the situation, as well as work for extraordinary local elections and set the necessary legal framework for them to take place.
The meeting, warned for next week, will be the first since the escalation of the situation in northern Kosovo and the new tensions between Kosovo and Serbia.
